Endnote Fusion - Reference Management System

News Flash!

Refworks has now been renamed EndNote Fusion.  It is mainly just a name change with one or two new features. Overall functionality will stay the same and all individual folders and settings will remain in place.  We will be shortly updating our guides and videos but for now they should mostly be the same apart from the name change. Email skills@cumbria.ac.uk with any queries 

Access EndNote Fusion

Endnote Fusion is now linked to the university's access system so logon with your usual username and password.  

  • If you end up at the Endnote Fusion login screen use the Institutional log in option.
  • Creating an account is straight forward but see the Endnote Fusion guide for details.

Full Details

EndNote Fusion is used to collect and manage your sources. It will also create your Reference list (Bibliography) in the Referencing style of your choice. Most courses use Cite Them Right but some such as Law or Psychology use other styles (check with your lecturers).  Endnote Fusion can format your references in whichever style you require.

Please note the videos below refer to Refworks and not EndNote Fusion - although the exporting processes are very similar. These resources will be updated to reflect the change to EndNote Fusion shortly.

  • Managing your citations

    You can also use EndNote Fusion to insert citations in Word or Google docs and then create a Bibliography (Reference list) at the end.  There are two ways to do this:

    • Use the Quick Cite tool under the Bibliography tab (see page 9 of our Endnote Fusion guide) and copy into your document
    • Using the EndNote Fusion add-in for Word or Google Docs. More details about installing the add-in can be found here

  • EndNote Fusion for Alumni

    When you leave the University of Cumbria, you can continue to access Endnote Fusion through an Alumni account.  This will remain active for as long as the University subscribes to EndNote Fusion.

    You need to change your status to Alumni before your University access ends!

    To change to an Alumni account:

    • Click on your name to access Settings
    • Under your Profile select Role and change to Alumni.
    • Change your email address to a personal one (you won't have access to your University one!)
    • If you have have set up your account with or Associated it with your University account (Credentials), Remove Credentials.
    • Set up an Alternate password.  It can be the same one it just needs to be added here.
